Mail Order: Name brand drugs and their generic equivalents are both available through mail order, and it is an excellent way to save money on prescription medication purchases. Using mail order generics whenever possible is probably the most effective alternative for saving money on prescription purchases. Even though mail order prescriptions are convenient and very cost effective, only a small percentage of consumers take full advantage of the substantial savings a mail order pharmacy offers. Sometimes concerns are expressed that mail order drugs may not be safe. As long as the mail order pharmacy is operating within the United States, they are subject to the same state and federal laws applicable to local retail pharmacies.
